Comarata retires from idX Corporation

September 1, 2022

GRAND RAPIDS, Mi. (September 1, 2022)--idX Corporation announces the retirement of Jim Comarata, Executive Vice President of Business Development, effective September 9, 2022.

Mr. Comarata, a nearly 40-year veteran of the retail store merchandising industry, spent 28 years with Hamilton Fixture Company before joining idX in 2012. Jim has led idX's commercial sales team successfully for the past 10 years while also managing a number of high-profile legacy accounts.

As part of Jim's retirement transition, he has worked closely with David Lawrence, UFP Industries' new Segment Vice President of Commercial Sales, to bring him up-to-speed on all things idX. David will not only oversee idX's Commercial Sales team, but all entities under UFP Industries' Commercial business segment, including idX's sister company Quest Design & Millwork. Jim's invaluable knowledge transfer as well as David's 20+ year history with UFP will have a tremendous impact on idX's business development.

“Jim embodies idX's core values through and through. He always puts the customer first and will support his team in any way necessary to deliver unmatched customer service. He is a thoughtful, motivational leader who will be very missed," said Scott Stewart, UFP's Vice President of Commercial and idX's senior leader. "Jim's track record of smart business decisions has led to many wins for the company, and I'm confident that the momentum he has generated for idX will continue to increase through David's leadership.

Jim has been integral in developing idX's new Business Unit structure, leading to a more streamlined management approach and specialized manufacturing within idX's production plants in both the U.S. and globally.

"I truly love this team and am really proud of what we've been able to accomplish together," said Mr. Comarata. "While I'm sad to leave, I am looking forward to more family time and am completely confident in David's ability to take the helm. To everyone I've had the pleasure of working with, thank you! I wish you all the best."
